Question:

Will my economic stimulus check actually come- injured spouse?

This year our tax rebate was captured for my husbands old student loans (They were only a couple years old and we didn't know they were even in default because we had made previous arrangements or else we would have done something about it in advance.) Once we found out I filed as Injured Spouse and sent it in. We haven't heard back about that yet. Today we received a letter saying we will get our stimulus check soon, 600 for us and 300 for our son for a total of 900. Will we likely get a check or a portion of it? Is there anyway to find out?

  1. No yours won't cause your spouse is injured.  Just forget it, then you wont be disapointed

    .

  2. Assuming the injured spouse form has been processed, you'll get half of it, or $450 - the other half will be taken toward what he owes.  The $450 will be delayed while they do the offset.

  3. Go to www.irs.org or www.irs.gov and they will tell you when, how much, and even the ID number on the check...

  4. If you got a letter then you'll get the check sooner or later.
