Question:

Will my electricity get cut off

I haven't paid my bill for my old provider, and my new provider just took over today. My old provider said on the late payment notice that if I don't pay my bill my electricity will be cut off in 4 days. Will that happen now that a new provider is giving me electricity?

  1. You will more than likely not get cut off.  They are different companies.  They have different accounting departments and are not connected in any way.  You are prob ok!  Even though, I would suggest paying your old provider asap.  You don't want them to report against your credit.

  2. ask the new provider about the payments from your old provider, and to see if they can help you out with a simple payment plan, ask the new provider to get in contact with the old provider and find out why the cut off date is within 4 days, and make sure that the electric bill gets top priory while that is getting paid on time, if you have a computer, go on line to your bank to see if they can set you up for your bank to pay that for you. good luck.

  3. You wont get cut off two different companies, but your old electric company can and most likely will report it on your credit report so everything who checks your credit will see and it will affect the score.
