I just got new glasses, and they are 1/4 step down from my last prescription i had for abour 3 years ago. I have been reading that it may take a couple of weeks for my eyes to adjust.

  1. 0.25D?

That should settle almost instantly, a week at the outside.

Any eyestrain or oddness is much more likely to be a difference in how the frames are carrying the Rx in front of your eyes than the Rx change itself.

(vertex distance, bowing, angling, horizontal alignment, centration distance... can all have an effect on how an Rx works and feels, if there is any significant strength in the lenses.)

A frame adjustment would settle most of those, if causing problems.

  2. Probably.  Have your eyes changed to where they are needed?  What I mean is...have your eyes changed to where you will see better with weaker glasses?  If yes, then, your eyes will probably adjust in a couple of weeks.

  3. For you you may not notice much change anyway - a quater step down isn't much at all,  however yes it may take a while getting used to, it affects different people in different ways, but in your case you should get used to them much quicker.

  4. It should instantly.
