Will my films and tv shows fit on a big plasma screen?

I've always had a small (10") portable TV and so the films and shows I watch will be used to that screen size. I'm really keen on those big plasma screens (42" or perhaps even bigger) but how would my tv shows and things look on that? Would they still be 10" across with just a huge black margin all round? Is there some way to magnify them to fit the new screen without losing definition?

It will all be in the set up manual for the TV. You will be able to choose the display mode. You won't have any problems.

TV shows will be fine  they aren't selective.Film are different thing  although you can purchase wide screen DVD other than that it will  have the margin unless you go to the set up of your dvd player  to see if you adjust it fit the screen if its not a widescreen movie prestaion.
