It should, both countries use the Pal/Secam system, it will just have to be retuned when you get there.

Old analog broadcasting systems were different in different parts of the globe - PAL, SECAM, NTSC but I think that Australia and Europe are largely the same.

The practical differences will be things like if the mains supply is the same in Australia and Germany..

let me check:

mains voltage/frequency is the same - 230V 50hz (same as UK {within tolerance})

Video is the same -  PAL (soon to be abandonded, converting to DVB-T) (same as UK)

audio carrier is the same - B/G  (same in Australia and Germany - though, this is different to the UK, which uses PAL- I )
