First of all I live in Florida so I would not have to worry about water freezing. I have a big man made pond in the backyard and have raised over 60 goldfish in it. The have grown to all sizes some pretty big. The fish have been feed by us everyday their whole lives. The pond will undergo construction and I had to do something with the fish. I took them over to the big duckpond down the street today and let them go. I know the duckpond has tons of wildlife in it fish, turtles, birds, etc.. Do these hand feed bright orange fish stand a chance in that pond?

  1. Did you acclimate them? You do know that is illegal? Right? Well, if it is big, yes they do...somewhat. There are still storks and raccoons and yes...they will probably die. You could just use a temporary tank?

I don't normally chew people out on here, but what you just did affect the whole fish keeping community, there are many fish and other pet species that are illegal b/c of irresponsible owners letting them free! Irresponsible like you! Think about the overall consequence, not just yourself.

  2. they'll survive easily most fish do.

  3. It depends of what kind of goldfish are you talking about. If they are any of  the fancy variety I don't think so. If they are the comun ones (comets), its possible.
