I just fed my dwarfe hamster, Suki, an almond. She grabbed it and started chewing, and i thought, ''how adorable!'' But then i was like, ''Uh-oh, do almonds kill or harm dwarf hamsters?'' What do you guys think?

  1. Poppy is right. Almonds contain cyanic acid and is not good for the hamster's digestive system. However one almond should not make your hamster very sick, though keep a sharp lookout on her p**p for the next two days and do not give her almonds anymore in the future.

  2. I don't think almonds are lethal to hamsters.  Just keep an eye on her.

  3. Hi! I think Suki should be OK. However, it is not a recommended food for hamsters - Almonds contains Cyanic Acid which isn't good for them. I would just keep on eye Suki and make sure Suki's dietary habits aren't changing, still drinking water, etc. I imagine Suki will be OK with one almond.
