  1. They stop growing around the ages 6-7years

  2. He will most likely get a little taller and will fill out his body more.

  3. 14 or 15 hands is a pretty big span that you gave. But yes, your horse will still continue growing. Most horses never completely stop growing. They may not gain in height but will in muscle mass and will broaden out with age as they mature.

A good way to tell what your horse is most likely going to size out to be is by looking at his parents and ancestors. If both sire and mare are around the same size, chances are he'll size out like them. While this may not always be true, as I've seen with my own eyes that my 15.2 hh stallion and 15.1 hh broodie have raised up many a colts that only have sized around 14.2-14.3 hh. But most of the time, ancestors is a good indicator.

  4. yes he'll keep growing till he's about 6-8 years old

  5. yes he sould keep growing i bought my first horse wen he was 4 and he kept growing for about a year after that

  6. He will grow a little more or he could grow a lot

  7. Hello,

If your paint is 2 YES, it will continue to grow and fill out!  They aren't totally done for a few more years!  But, it is a bit slower than the first couple of years.

14 and 15 hands is  a pretty big difference when it comes to height of a horse.

  8. At two years old he is still a baby and he could continue to grow until he is 5 or 6 years old.  He will most likely be as tall as he will ever get when he is 4 and then fill out from there.  A horses skeletal system does not fully mature until they are 6.

  9. Yes, horse's typically grow until they are about four.  However, I have seen horses still growing until about seven--it depends on the breed.  I would guess that your paint will get a couple inches taller.  He will also fill out if you take good care of him.

  10. It all depends on your horse. A horse "can" continue to grow until they reach the age of 7. I have had some two year olds stay at their height and just fill out and mature for the next couple of years. How tall are his parents? Usually you can estimate a foals by their parents/ancestors heights. For instance if the mare is 15hh and the stallion is 16hh then you can usually count on the foal finishing between those two heights or as tall as the 16hh. They continue to grow for the next couple of years but not in huge leaps and bounds like within the first two to three years of their lives. I have found most paint horses to finish growing height wise around 3 to 4 years old and then just continue to fill out and mature. It also helps to feed your young ones grain to help in their growth and development. A neat trick to use to estimate his future height is measure the length of his front leg from the middle of the knee to the cornet band. However many inches that is will be approximately how many hands he will mature to. I have found this method to work 9 out of 10 times with my young ones. Hope this helps you out!

  11. please see answer by Dallas

  12. Yes, he can. They can grow height until 4-5yrs old. Then they can fill out intill 6-7yrs.

  13. it should with proper nutrition.

most growing is done by age 1 and 2, but between 3 and 4 they fill out muscle wise and do get somewhat taller. probably by another hand or a little more. by age 5 all the joints are done growing and hard work can be done. But really its all in the bloodlines.

we got lily when she was two and she was 14.2 hands, and now she's 16.1 and age 10

  14. yes.

he should keep growing for a couple years.

  15. Yes your horse should keep growing until he is 6 or 7 he may start out small and could grow to be huge

  16. A horses growth usually slows substantially at the age of 4, but doesnt stop until around 6 or 7.  There have been exceptions reported, but generally a horse will grow until about 6-7 yrs old.  So yes, your horse will continue to grow :)
