  1. file a claim with the other person's insurance and call yours to keep them informed in the case the other person attempts to file on your insurance.  At fault accidents and claims over certain dollar amounts cause insurance premiums to rise.   Most companies have accident forgiveness for their customers who have been there three years or more with no accidents or violations so that even the first at fault accident does not increase your rates.

  2. If you don't know who hit you, then you will need to call the police and do a police report. Then call your insurance company and report the accident. This may actually increase your insurance rates. The rate hike shouldn't be as much as an at fault accident though. If you have the person's insurance who hit you, then you can call that driver's insurance company and report the accident. In this case your rates probably will not go up. However, this will be on your driving record and insurance companies have access to this information.

  3. Always call the police and your insurance company....Always !  Now call them and let them handle everything.  The last thing you should be worrying about is  "IF" your rates "MAY" go up.  Those who buy insurance and then don't/won't use it are foolish

  4. Yes, call your insurance and make a claim.  They'll take your side of the story.  If you got rear ended, most likely the insurance company will report that it's the other person's fault 100%.  THerefore your insurance rate/premium will not go up.  If I were you, go to the chiropractor as well.  Not only to get your back straightened in case of whip blash or anything.  The other person's insurance will cover it, and the best part is you can claim a settlement at the end.

  5. your insurance will go up because you where there.  i know it bites but insurance don't care.  also go to your insurance and give them the info about the other persons stuff so you can get going.

  6. Try to have as much information as you could perhaps is one of the options, however it is labor consuming, here is the place i have ever had good experience with.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...
