h**l no, 125s are bigger faster and all around gunna give u a run for ur money,sry kid, and it depends how u ride too, i use to give people a run for their money, i was riding a 85 and they were riding a 125, on the straights they killed but i caught them, and i did the same from 125 racing to going against 250 riders, i killed them, but im just pry fast, keep riding

Depends on how good a rider you are and how good the riders on the 125cc's are.  If both riders were of equal ability then the 125cc would have the advantage.

it will be ok as a start in racing but if you plan on being competetive you will need to be on the same bike as the rest of the field

What do you mean exactly? Will you be racing against 125's in the schoolboy class or something? If so the 125 will obviously have an advantage but in motocross it is more the rider than the bike. If the 125 rider is a bit heavier than you it will equal out. I have seen kids on 85's win the schoolboy class against 125's and 250F's. It's all about the rider's skills.
