All of the money she will recieve is back pay from social security disability payments she should have recieved while disabled. Will she be taxed on the money?

  1. no not on a disability settlement. There are no taxes withheld from social security so she will not be taxed, My mom received a check for back pay on social security for 36000 and there were no taxes withheld from it. I was in a car accident and received an insurance settlement of 109,000.00 and I didn't have to pay taxes on it either
