Will my nails ever grow back?

Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've been biting my nails for as long as I can remember. I've now realised that it looks disgusting and is a filthy habit so I've decided to stop, but as I've bitten them for so long, my nail's only ever grown to about half way up my finger. What I'm asking is, will my nail grow into my skin so I don't have those white bits at the ends (I don't know what they're called) or will my nails just look ridiculous if I let them grow to the ends of my fingers. I know I've explained it poorly but if you've understood, that's great. All answers appreciated. Thanks in advance for looking and double thanks if you answer. I will choose a best answer tomorrow.

First off, take vitamins.  Multi are fine.  Second, use lotion on your cuticle and rub so they stay soft.  Push them back using your finger tips.  This helps the cuticle not stick to the nail itself.  Eat healthy and your nails should come back just fine.  Don't use polish.  It hurts the nail.
