  1. Pennies aren't entirely made of copper anymore.


  2. penny's are mostly tin and zinc so even if the US government would allow it Id say you might break even but doubtful

  3. No scrapyard would take them, it's illegal to use US coinage for scrap.  What's wrong with turning them in for cash?

    Also pennies aren't solid copper anymore.....

  4. I don't know how many pennys  to the pound, so the  first thing to do is to count out a Pound of pennies and  then check the going rate for copper, it fluctuates  daily.

  5. Only if you clean them and melt them yourself and make jewelry or sculptures out of copper.

  6. 1) thats illegal and they probably wouldnt let you

    2) youd probably have to drive further to a scrap yard than a bank so gas would break your margin unless you really have a c**p load of them
