  1. depends how heavy your flow is...if it is heavy then dont go swimming. if light use a tampon and enjoy ur swim!

  2. Gross.  Yes.  It will be like a river gushing all over the place and all down your legs.  Don't even leave the house.

  3. usually your period stops when you're in the water, but use tampons to be on the safe side. if you cannot use tampons for any reason, you should learn and try starting off with slim PLASTIC.

  4. Your period doesn't stop when you get in water, I don't know where people are getting that from. You should be fine if you use a tampon. I was a swimmer and a lifeguard for many years and only had one bad experience. I had an insanely heavy flow (i think it was because i had just started birth control pills) and I was in the pool during work lifeguarding, just practice...the pool was closed thank God! I had gotten out of the pool and blood was dripping down my leg! Gross I know! But I ran to get a new tampon and changed it and all was fine, no one saw. Plus there wasn't a stream of blood in the pool, there wasn't anything noticeable in the pool at all. So you will be fine!!

  5. If you use a good tampon you will be fine. If it leaks, it will NOT be like food coloring hitting water. I promise. (I'm a swimmer who has had tampons leak and nobody notice :-) ) It wont stop upon hitting water though and it will leave a bad stain on your suit if you decide not to wear a tampon.

  6. probably not, but use a tampon.

  7. Use tampons

  8. Not a good idea with tampons or napkins. What happens when you put a drop of red food coloring into a bowl of water?

It would only take a tiny leak and you could have a pink cloud following you through the water. Maybe not but I've never been into taking that type of chance.

  9. I'm not sure why people keep saying that being in water stops your period. That is simply not true. However, it would be less noticeable than bleeding through clothing due to it being dilluted from the water (so no, it won't be like food coloring in water). I heard this myth has something to do with pressures "holding it in." But pressures can change quickly, especially when diving through different depths of water.

All that being said tampons will make it possible for you to swim with your period (one of the larger sizes if your flow is heavy). You might leak through, but chances are good people won't notice even if you do. If you're worried you can get out and check or change every hour or so.

  10. Your period will stop when it hits water, just to be on the safe side wear a tampon when you swim. You can also wear a pad inside your bathing suit and just wear shorts to cover it. Depending on how heavy you are on your 2nd day, you can decide what to do. Also try showering before you swim, that way it will already of hit the water and it will have begun to slow down a bit. Good luck! If you end up going swimming, have fun!
