They're not plexiglass, just sturdy plastic about 4 mm thick. Should I put masking tape on them?

  1. Honey...anything can break in a hurricane if hit by something flying through the air at 80+ mph. Forget masking tape...if a small child can tear off a peice from the roll... it's about useless in a storm. You will need something that is both water-proof and strong...like duct-tape or rein-forced packing tape, something with real grip, to stay attached to the broken peices..

  2. If I were you, I'd just move.  New Orleans clearly is a target for some strange reason.

  3. Masking tape will not stop glass windows from breaking.  I don't know why people do this.  Your plastic windows are less likely to break, but again, masking tape will not make a difference.  If you are concerned about your windows breaking during a hurricane, put plywood over them.  This will protect your windows from being broken.

  4. If they are going to break, masking tape will not save them.  Glass these days has stuff built in it to lessen the shards.  The plastic windows are less likely to shatter than glass ones.  Stay dry girl.

  5. anything will break if it is struck hard enough. Imagine a tree flying thru the air and hitting your window. Plexiglass is usually the strongest. If u don't have it, it might be acrylic which could crack if something heavy with velocity struck it.
