  1. Not if you have given it to him according to your vet's instruction and the package directions.

  2. What?!?!?!?!  "die of the heart worm prevention" What do you mean???

  3. Possible if he hasnt been tested for heartworm and he has heartworms

  4. Probably not - it's very safe.  It's only a risk if your puppy already has heartworms (that's why the test before its prescribed) or if your puppy is of a sensitive breed (primarily herding breeds) and it is given Heartguard.  However, vets generally know what breeds should not get that particular preventative and prescribe something else.

  5. The preventative is just that - a way to prevent the dog from getting heartworm.  Dogs do not die from this unless they are given way too much for their size.

The actual treatment of heartworm, if the dog has them, is a different story.  Some dogs have gone through the treatment and been okay, others have not survived the treatment.

  6. No, just follow the directions and if there is a problem you should talk to the vet and see wat he says to you.

  7. No. but it will die from heart worms if it doesnt get the prevention.
