Not only are you unable to delete an answer after the question has been resolved, but even if you delete a recent answer on a question that is still unresolved, it won't change your record of questions answered, so no, it's a lost cause.

Yes, your "best answer" percentage will go up if the questions you have answered have not gone to "Voting" or have not been resolved.

Once a question goes to voting or has been resolved either by voters or by the asker, you can't edit or delete what you said.

I often go back and delete comments I've made just to be snarky or when people ask questions that only require a one word answer, or a brief opinion on something, and yes, my best answer percentage goes up the more I delete.

The reason your "Best Answer" percentage goes up when you delete other answers that you feel aren't adequate enough for a BA is because it's based on a calculation that uses the total amount of questions answered and the total that are best answers...if you reduce the total answered, your best answer percentage will go up.

However, you lose 2 points whenever you delete an answer, so if you are low on points and want to ask questions that day, you'll have to answer more questions or vote on unresolved questions to gain points.

No, you can't and it would make no difference anyway. You need to get best answers by giving the best answer to the question, not by deleting already answered questions.

Nope. It doesn't help. In fact if you go back and delete I don't believe you can, and if you deleted something you wrote to an open question you lose points.

You can't delete answers that are in resolved questions.

The first answerer is correct, you can't delete them once the question has been resolved.
