  1. The pedals will fit your BMX bike with no problem.

The Shimano m520 pedal is designed for mountain biking.  They are made mostly of aluminum alloy.  They are a good design.  They are easy to clip into and out of.  They shed mud well. They are quite tough.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Yes they will fit.

They're mainly for mountain bikes/Touring bikes. They enable the rider to clip their shoes into the pedal, therefore able to pedal more efficiently. I wouldn't recommend them for a BMX if you're going to be doing tricks and such on it.

  3. don't bmx cranks have smaller holes for pedals? and the pedal bolt is thinner as a result? or is that just a rumour i heard?

  4. Yes, they will fit.

The main thing with the pd 520, other than being very cheap, is that it offers good mud clearance, as well as consistent smooth clip in and out of the shoes.  IE  it is a mountain bike pedal.

The main advantage of this type of pedal is that when throwing your mountain bike down a country lane, you can stay clipped in so that you are not bouncing up and down, losing control of your bike.  You are also able to use more of your rotation, 2/3 rather than 1/3 in powered movement, since you can pull with one foot while you push with the other.  This makes hill climbing, or powering through muddy fields much easier.

    Luck
