Will my skin get dry if I use lemon juice to lighten it?

I'm planning on lightening my skin with lemon juice, though, I was wondering if my skin will be dry afterwards.

  1. Keep in mind that lemons are pure acid. So its ok to do it only if you do it once or twice a week, then make sure you wash it off and moisturize!! If your skin gets red or irritated, stop doing it though!


  2. it might be a lttle dry after. i know people that use lemon juice to help get rid of pimples, so theres some drying. just apply some lotion =]

  3. Lemons are acidic and they will strip the oil out of your skin. So, yes, they will make your skin dry.

    But why are you using lemon juice to lighten your skin? The coloration in your skin is not in the top layer, where you would apply the lemon juice. It is below that. You would have to go through a very complicated process to lighten your skin color through chemical means. If you really want to lighten your color, stay out of the sun or use 60 sunblock. But there is a basic level of color that you can't go below.
