Will my smile look better after my jaw surgery?

I'm having a lower jaw surgery to fix my overbite (the lower jaw is being moved forward) and when I move it to the area where my surgeon has told me he will be moving to it, my smile look funky. Will it get better after the last six months of orthodontics?
