Will my streamlight flashlight work on stoplights?

i have seen emergency cars make traffic lights turn green almost immediately by using a strobe light in ront of their car. will my streamlight flashlight with strobe work to make lights change?

  1. If that was possible, we'd see everyone who is late for work driving around with those flashlights......

    Also what they use to change the lights is called MIRT, you can get 'em but I can guarantee it's illegal and a dumb idea if you found a place that'll sell them to you.

I'm not being rude here but, you are mis-guided.  My company actually installs the light changers in vehicles.  They are boxes that get mounted inside the cab.  The above answerer is correct - there are certain signals that you have to program in order for it to work.  Oh, FYI - emergency vehicles aren't the only ones with these.

    they use infrared to change the lights, and you have to know the sequence
