Will my tank work? 40 gallons oddball?

okay, I know "BiCiRs ArE BIIIIGgGgG!" But here it is:

40 gallons:

curvier/senegal bichir- 10 inches

Elephant nose/baby whale fish-8 inches

4 wimple piranah-12 inches

Peacock eel-8 inches

If you think a fish does not work, please give a reccomendation! thank you!

  1. Are you serious?You are mixing Very aggressive fish with docile fish,you must have money to waste.

  2. No, that won't work. You've already clocked the size issue, all of those crammed into a 40 gallon could well create aggression and growth issues.

    Do not go for any of those unless you can get at least the minimum tank size they need:

    peacock eel - 70-75 gallons

    senegal bichir - 55-60 gallons

    wimple piranha - 70-75 gallons

    elephant nose - 100-120 gallons

    at a push you could maybe JUST keep the senegal alone, but it would depend on the footprint of your tank and it may still need an upgrade when mature.

    you mentioned baby whale, did you mean Petrocephalus bovei bovei? in which case this could work in a 40 gallon (without the bichir which would eat it).
