Will my television that I bought in South Africa work in Australia?

I've heard that our televisions doesn't have sound when you use them in Australia, but I don't know if that's entirely true

Why on earth would you want to bring a television all the way from South Africa to Australia? Don't you think it makes more sense to sell the one you've got and buy a new one when you get over here? I wouldn't waste my money taking a television half-way across the world.

Will not get sound SA I am told uses different transmition fequncy or system. A basic oneis relativly cheap here inOZ.
