I have two budgies that share the same cage. Unfortunaltey my parents are divorced. The budgies are kept at my dads and I love them very much. But I have to go to my moms house for a week and then to my dads for a week then to my moms for a week and so on and so forth. I just want to know if I leave them at my dads house and I leave to go to my moms will they be ok? MY dad will change their water bowl, and food bowl but he cant really play with them cause he's very busy. Will my budgies die, kill eachother, or will they be ok? Normally I would bring them with me to my moms, but she wont allow it. Please help. Will both of them be ok when left alone and when Im not there? PLEASE help/

  1. Actually, they should be fine.  The two budgies will be entertained by each other quite happily.  Just make sure that your dad remembers to feed them healthy foods, such as apples and lettuce.

  2. Budgies can usually entertain themselves. But, buying new toys can help them from being bored. When you are at your dad's, change the cage's layout before you leave. Maybe move the perches and the toys around so the birds can explore the new layout. If the food is changed and the water, leaving them for a week should not present a problem.

  3. It's not good to leave them along for a long period of time. When I leave on vacation I always bring my budgie to someone's house. Maybe he can let them fly around for a couple hours every day? I suppose it's better that they're not alone, but they should be given some attention daily.

  4. they should be fine as long as their water and food is being changed. have your dad call you if he notices excess amounts of feathers or other things that are wrong and you can decide what to do from there.
