Question:

Will my vision get worse?

I'm 16, and my vision right now is 20/35-20/40 (not officially, but just self-tested with one of those eye-chart things), and around 3 years ago it was around 20/20-20/25 (professionally tested I believe). I play a lot of video games, use the computer, and spend a lot of time in dim light (now that I think about it, heh heh). I'm going to play video games for a while, but I'm trying to be play in brighter light and stuff. It's just that my moderately sized tv is about 4 feet from my chair, and I have trouble seeing the images clearly. At this rate, will I be blind when I'm in my 40s?

  1. Who knows? You need to go to a eye Dr. and get them tested. Are your eyes not so important to you that you won't take care of them? Maybe you just need glasses. SEE A DOCTOR!

  2. You will absolutely NOT be blind unless you get some eye disease later in life.

You're just getting a bit nearsighted.

Go to an ophthalmologist to get your eyes checked to see if you need glasses or contacts.  It is very normal to start getting nearsighted in your teens.

When using the computer look away from screen every 30 minutes for 5 minutes to rest your eyes so you don't get eye strain.

Don't worry at all. Okay? :-)
