Will my yamaha vstar 1100's engine over heat if i leave it running to long?

  1. it is an air cooled engine . if you in the heat too long sitting at a light or in traffic it will become slugish or backfire when it starts to over heat , i ride mine alot in florida and have never over heated except at Leesburg bike fest ` check out www.650ccnd.com

    never have had that happen and we have run ours for thousands of miles, what you dont want to do is leave the chooke on too long or your pipes will blue. At a idle the engines fine sitting still, when you rev it , more heat is created but you should be moving down the road and the engine fins will cool engine. lastly, these bikes have ceramic coated cyclinders made for the heat. it will be fine.
