Will mystery snails eliminate mollies extra food at the bottom of the tank and their waste?

I have a 20 gallon tank with 12 mollies in it and they p**p a lot and i was wondering if a mystery snail will take care of the extra food and my other problem the p**p. Thanks a lot for answering!

  1. No critter will eat p**p.  They will help with excess food, but no snail or fish should be used in place of a good gravel vacuuming done weekly.  That's really the only way to effectively remove those.  

    How much and often are you feeding the mollies?  If you're overfeeding, they'll p**p more lol.  Feed once a day, just what they'll eat in a few minutes.  Net out any uneaten food.  Do gravel vacuums weekly, and change out at least 25% of the water when you do them.


  2. once again i would go with either a brittle nose pleco or a rubber lip pleco and stay away from snails!

    a big problem with stails in that they are hermafrditis meaning they have both s*x organs. and you will often buy a pregenant one from a petshop. a month later and youll have a tank full of little slails that is a real pain to get rid of.

  3. Snails don't eat p**p.  They will eat excess food but that's easy to take care of by not overfeeding.  Snails create more p**p.

    12 mollies is about 6 too many for a 20 gallon tank which would be the biggest reason you have excess p**p.
