  1. Sadly, each year more than 15 million dogs and cats are killed in the US because of overpopulation.

Altering pets through spay/neuter surgery helps prevent the unwanted birth of animals that would be difficult to place into good homes.

The spaying and neutering of pets can also reduce the incidence of s*x-hormone related diseases. The neutered male cat has a decreased urine odor, less of a tendency to fight and roam, and it is far less inclined to mark its territory by spraying urine.

The neutered male dog is also less likely to roam, mark territory, and display aggression toward other dogs. Neutered dogs have fewer tumors around the a**s and decreased urine odor.

The spayed female cat and dog do not have reproductive tract disease problems, have less urinary tract infections, and significantly fewer cases of mammary cancer.

In addition to the benefits of not having heat periods and unwanted offspring, the animal’s tendency to roam is decreased. Most pets become less aggressive toward people and other animals

  2. no

  3. Not only that, he'll live longer too! Pets' lifespans almost double when they're fixed.

  4. Ernie will become calmer and even sweeter.  A neutered male is such loving companion.

Good Luck and I'm glad Ernie will be neutered.

  5. no it will lessen his need to wander one of my toms is but not the other (due to medical problem) both are loving and it calmed my oldest tom down. and it keeps them healthy for longer providing you give a good balanced diet that hasn't got to much dry food in as it can cause crystals and therefore blockages but it is best to castrate toms to prevent over pop of unwanted pets

  6. Yes. By neutering your male cat you will alter his personality quite a bit. He will become more playful, eat more, meow more, hide less, and his will for escaping your home will drastically drop. If you are planning to keep him as an indoor cat please do neuter him for your health's sake because he will spray around your house. What I mean by spray is he will mark his territory be urinating aroud your home, and trust me, it smell really bad. My overall advice to you is to neuter your cat, he will become more interested in you, than in his own instincts. Good luck with your pet.

  7. For one thing, it will change your personality, and for the better as you will not be dealing with spraying around your place, and that is particularly foul.  And neutering is best done before sexual maturity.

He will be a calmer cat, and more friendly.  Only if you overfed him will be become fat.  If he is a kitten and wild, he will remain wild and become more laid back as he ages, as any kitten would.

If unneutered, he will want to roam, and get into serious fights which can result in expensive vet bills, or even death.  Or he could never return.

  8. I highly doubt it =)
