Will obama be able to abolish the death penalty?

he fought for death penalty reform as a senator and hopefully he will do away with the death penalty when he's president! he mentioned how many blacks are killed by the death penalty only to find out they were innocent! its true.... it is such a flawed system and it's not right to kill anyone so the death penalty needs to go! OBAMA 08! change u can believe in....

How can you be for abortion but against the death penalty. It's the same thing.

To the poster below me: We don't kill people to show people killing is wrong. We kill people because they can never change for the good and they are a menace to society. I feel better knowing that someone that blew up a government building is sent to where he belongs.

What figure do you think is higher, released rapists and muderers who reoffend or innocent people executed?   I'm for playing the percentages.

Reality check..the death penalty will remain forever.  The government may not sanction it but it will remain as long as there are atrocities committed by animals.

Curious if you ever include the hanging of n**i officials after the Nuremberg trials in your diatribes against the death penalty?  Doubtful...very doubtful.

I hope he will.  If this was to happen, I think a lot of crime and violence in America will diminish greatly as a result - especially media related violence.  I hope that he will also be able to take care of the latter too.  The only problem is: I can't vote for him because I am not an American.

Obama is not against the death penalty and has said that it needs to be available for 'the most heinous crimes'.  See the link below.  

In addition, as President he wouldn't have the power to abolish it.  So, your question really doesn't make any sense.  Why do I get the feeling that someone is attempting to spread misinformation, hmmm?

My brother was brutally murdered in New York and the guy only got 10 years. He had the weapon on him, fingerprints and there was video footage of him murdering my brother. Before you say anything about how many blacks are killed and blah blah, think about if someone you loved was killed and suffered. wouldn't you want justice? i'm so tired of black people pulling the race card on everything..what about the asians that are innocent, the whites that are innocent, the hispanics? no one gives a c**p about them right?

i pray to god obama doesn't become president. the last thing we need is a person who wants to abolish the death penalty yet supports partial birth abortion. that makes a lot of sense. what an imbecil.
