ya your equipment will work in nz. all u need to do is to buy another socket to plug in u r equipment. but i would suggest to sell your big equipment in uk before coming in here and buy the new or second hand new zealand suited equipment, some times they match every thing but not the frequency of current and it may damage your equipmet within few months. then u have to buy from new zealand market.

Yes it will work fine, however you will need to replace the plugs.

You should be able to get some cheap plugs at any of a number of large hardware stores....or if you want something a bit more stabile then try a specialty electrical supplies store.

One tip if i may: take all your powerboards with you. You can then just replace the plug on the boards cable and keep the english plugs on the electrical goods that you plug into it. This is a good idea for the TV, Video, DVD, stereo sets you might have..since theyre often all in the same place anyway...

Yeah, I suggest that NL has a very good answer.

It'll be cheaper in transport costs, and far less hassle to leave your electrical items behind and replace them when you get here.

Your washing machine, dryer, computer will work the only thing I will tell you not to bring is your tv as they dont work.

should do as long as they produce it at 50 cycles per second and it is tapped off to your home 240 volts. give or take 10%

You've probably got the message by now, but you will deffianately need to get an adapter as our sockets and plugs are completely different. These are not very expensive. d**k Smith Electronics is a good place for these kind of things. Hope your time in NZ is good one!

Voltage and frequency are the same; 230V 50 Hz., but you'll need to change the plugs as the sockets are different.  You can do this yourself; phase, neutral and earth are the same.  Either that, or buy adapters.

Any thing that has an internal clock will not operate, so video machines, microwaves, computers, telephones leave behind and buy new when you get here.
