Will people think im g*y?

im a 14 year old guy and i shave my legs. not because of sports, just because i think it looks better. this year in school im going to be taking gym and i would have to wear shorts. do you think when the other guys see me they would think im g*y because i shave my legs? or should i let it grow back for the school year...even though i really dont want to...

Hey someone, your body is your body and you shouldn't get too stressed out about what others think you do with your body.  If you want to shave your legs, then go ahead and shave them.  That being said, it is unusual for a guy to be shaving his legs unless he's a serious competitive swimmer - I imagine someone like Michael Phelps probably shaves off most of his body hair before competitions like the Olympics right now.  (Of course the LZR swim suit may have changed that too!)

My point is that when you do something out of the ordinary, people are bound to notice and 14-year old boys in a locker room will notice very fast.  The pack mentality means that you might get teased about it and very often in that sort of teasing, they'll question your sexual orientation even if you are the studliest hetero in the school.  If you can handle that, then shave on.  If you're worried about it, maybe let the hair grow back and get one of those body hair trimmers (I use one) and trim the hair.  Hope that helps a little.

The short answer is .... yes, some may think you are g*y or effeminate for shaving your legs if there is no practical reason (cycling, swimming, etc) for doing it.  Unfortunately, at that age peer pressure and self image within the larger group is important to socializing and surviving.  For that reason, sometimes you may need to do minor things to better fit in with the group.  It may sound like a sell out ... but life as a teen is hard enough without creating problems for yourself because of hairy legs.  If it becomes fashionably acceptable at some point, like shaving or waxing chest hair is now more acceptable, you may be able to rethink this later.  For right now, let it grow back to save yourself some grief if you are not going to take up hard core cycling or swimming.

Suck to have to say this, but yeah people might tease you for shaving your legs, but at 14 i don't remember having a lot of hair on my legs either way, so you can prolly get away from it for a couple of years, just say you dont grow hair there and you dunno why

Never mind what other people think.  If you are shaving your legs at 14, you ARE g*y.  Deal with that before concerning yourself with the opinions of your peers.

Yes. They'll think you're strange at least. But people are people. Things you may like to do will always be thought of as strange by others. As long as you're not hurting anyone with your actions, do what you need to do. Throughout your life people will be judging you by the way you look, act or dress. I hate hairly leggs, but im a 14 year old girl i get to shave. although i thinks hairly leggs are unattractive, but the 14 year old guys might think otherwise. they might tease you alot so you should think of maybe sweat pants for gym, or letting your hair grow back. but maybe the other guys wont even notice so dont say anything, and you wont get teased.

Sadly, your peers may make fun of you for having shaven legs. I think you should be able to do whatever you want, but other 14 year old boys may not agree. Could you wear gym pants instead?
