  1. There is no such thing as pschic powers, so no.

And to anyone who claims there are such powers, why haven't they been demonstrated in an experimental environment to claim the millions of dollars on offer (from scientific and sceptical institutions)? Don't patronise me by saying psychics wouldn't feel right doing this.

  2. No, people who have near death experiences don't get psychic powers all of a sudden. People with nde claim to see god or to talk to those who have died, but it's not like they almost drown, wake up, and have telekinesis.

People who have psychic abilities mostly claim to have come across them in childhood or yound adulthood and have had to nurture them slowly for progress. It's not like you can just do something to get special abilities.

  3. Sorry to disagree with the intellectual opinions already expressed on the fallacy of psychic powers. To a large extent I agree, but there there are some irksome factors out there that make me keep an open mind.

First story (and this is recorded), a lone mountaineer on Everest feels that he will not make it but moves on hoping to summit and then let go. He walks, and talks, and 'feels' a presence beside him, accompanying him. He feels that the other thing beside him is actually him, another manifestation of himself. When he sits down to have his last chocolate cake he breaks it and offers the image half of his cake. He summits and returns alive. And records his amazing tale.

Story two: I visited a legendary man in Pokra about a decade ago. After a day of meditation the first question he asked me was to relate a psychic incident I had when I was seriously ill at 10.

Story three: on my near death bed a few years ago I actually saw the aura of my friend beside me. I could have been hallucinating. Can one still recall vivid hallucinations? I do.

These I would imagine constitute something out of the ordinary. Psychic? You decide. For myself I think that what is called psychic would have scientific principles to explain them. At this time we don't know them. So call them psychic for the time being. Until.......

  4. No, there is no link between having a NDE and developing psychic powers. In fact, there is no credible evidence whatsoever for psychic powers in the first place. The world is still awaiting the first person to step forward and claim he has psychic powers and then actually demonstrate them. It has not happened yet.

  5. those who return from a  near death experience ,

often lose their taste for ego-boosting achievement.

NDE subjects often report long-term after-effects, and changes in worldview, such as an increased interest in spirituality, an increased interest in the meaning of life, increased empathic understanding and a decrease in fear of death Some subjects also report internal feelings of bodily energy and/or altered states of consciousness similar to those associated with the yogic concept of kundalini

"People will also say that they feel they are in the presence of a spiritual reality. A Christian may interpret this as Jesus. One atheist who had an out of body experience said that he later realized that this presence was responsible for the governance of the universe." Extrasensory perception and various types of psychic phenomena become normal and ordinary in the lives of NDErs.

  6. Everyone in the universe has psychic powers, but the majority of people are not open to them..................

  7. NDE's a easily replicatable - test pilots experience them all the time, and they are in no danger of dying.  It turns out it's just your brain freaking out.  Nothing paranormal about it.

Psychic powers have never been shown to exist.  If you or someone else you know thinks you can prove me wrong, you're welcome to do so and win a million bucks in the process.  http://www.randi.org

  8. My nephew was struck by lightning, full cardiac arrest, they did CPR and brought him back.......now they say he can tell when a person is going to die!!!! I do not know if it is true but I have not seen him in several years

  9. There is no known link.  Many have claimed to have their latent psychic abilities awakened after an NDE, but there is no evidence of an NDE creating them.

  10. I have heard of this as well as very traumatic experiances, but they have not been able to link the two as a given. I do have some psychic abilities but have never had a NDE.

  11. Actually it depends on your own mindset. What do you believe? Do you believe that people have a sixth sense, do you believe that there are psychics out there?

If you answered no then I can not help you because you will never believe.

If you answered yes then I can answer this for you.

Near death experiences can bring on psychic abilities, but to what degree is uncertain.

When you go through a traumatic experience, all of your senses experience a surge of some sort of intensity and give power to their own perceptions, basically it jump starts you into being more your own psychic intuitions.

So to answer your question yes near death experiences  can jump start "psychic powers"!

  12. no theres no connection between having nde,s and psychic powers..i do alot of research on nde,s..they experience the other side and then they are given another chance and sent back, and all they get is a memory of what they experienced...thats it..for some people it just makes them a believer, that there is an afterlife...sometimes while they are on the other side they can be told something about their life or someone close to them and then they bring that information back with them

  13. no fantastic four

  14. Not necessarily. One option/belief is that an NDE makes the person more aware of things in general and thereby opening up to the possibility.

  15. Where would you get an idea like this? This question makes the assumption that psychic powers exist, which has not been proved to any standard of evidence.

Second, they know now that NDE doesn't really have to do with being near death, its just that is one of the situations where it appears. Although many people have NDE when there life isn't even in danger. I've heard one doctor call them Fear of Death experiences, because he observed that it the patients that are afraid they are going to die, not the ones who are near death who experience it the most.

Anyway, to make the story short, NDE is a physical experience.

I'm not saying there isn't a Heaven or h**l. I am a Christian and believe strongly in the spirit, and eternal life and all that stuff that's in the Bible. I'm just saying NDE is nothing more than something the brain does.

For the record, Christians believe that psychic powers are primarily caused by demonic possession, not to be confused with Prophets who are not psychic, they use the Holy Spirit to speak for the LORD.

  16. Many people who have a NDE become aware for the first time that there is a world outside of the physical and that they have an existence outside of their physical body.  This type of experience can be a huge revelation for a person and cause them to begin thinking about their life and the world in a completely different way.  They begin to see the consequences of their actions.  They may see connections between themselves and other people in their family.   They may begin to look at time and space with a new eye.

These new experiences can shake the world view of the individual and might give them the curiosity to try to form a new world view.  In the process, they may develop sensitivities to energies that are not observed by most people.  They may develop skills that are interpreted as telepathy, empathy, clairvoyance, or precognition.

Not all people who have had NDEs will develop psychic powers, but a person who has had a NDE is likely to rethink their most basic beliefs.  If they look hard enough and maintain their curiosity, they may find skills and pathways that those who are focused on the physical world have missed.
