from what ive gathered they dont but i have a major infestation here, i killed 7 spiders yesterday alone and theres currently a big spider outside my bedroom door so im too scared to go in there. the worst part is i am unbelievably scared of them, like, to the point where i seriously havent slept or had a shower in 2 days because i keep seeing spiders in my room and there was one in the bathroom and i tried to sleep on the couch like an hour ago and then i realised there was another spider on the ceiling! i have spent the last hour crying my eyes out and having trouble breathing and basically having a panic attack and ive only just calmed down at the thought of paying some one to come and sort this out. but now im starting to realise that might not happen and im starting to freak out again! i seriously need to get some sleep but i cantwhile these spiders are around and i cant go and stay with any body right now, especially since i have pets which i cant move

  1. l'd call a pro also. Had a similar problem. You don't need to be freaking out . Pay someone and get it resolved if you can. Good Luck!

  2. go to www.epestsupply.com and order the spray or powder to kill spiders. this will help with the spiders you already have and prevent future spider and other pest from becoming a problem.

  3. I wouldnt bet on frantic cleaning. I am a very clean housekeeper and I still get spiders in the house. Just call an exterminator. No bugs OR spiders will come in with them coming!

  4. There are only 2 kinds of spiders that can harm you in the US. the black widow and the brown recluse. Odds are you have neither. The web site listed above has excellent pictures of these spiders.

All you really needs to do is to do a lot of cleaning.

Spiders hate being around people and will flee the home if you do a lot of cleaning. The exemptions to this are in the attic and the basement. That is because they do not get enough activity to keep the spiders out. For these areas you can use s few chemicals: Read thei excerpt from epestcontrol.com:

Indoors - Liquid sprays such as Demand or Demon WP.  Spiders must be killed by spraying directly on contact. Residual sprays are ineffective since spiders do not absorb chemicals through their feet or legs as cockroaches do.  Dust formulations such as Drione or TriDie are very effective in attic areas and basement areas.

The key here is that sprays do not kill unless sprayed directly on the spider. Dusts, which you do not want to use in living spaces can work. You can also glue boards (like are made for mice) under cabinets, behind appliances and in other places.

Other than that do a lot of cleaning, both inside and outside of the house and anyplace you can get in the attic and under the house. Get as many spider webs as you can.

Do the best job you can cleaning up every inch of the house. Afterwords, hire a cleaning service to come in and dust EVERYTHING in the house, walls, light fixtures, everything. You will probably then find your spiders gone in the next few days, and you will have a very clean house.

Anyone with a spider problems needs to ask themselves, when was the last time you cleaned under the beds, behind the fridge, under the cabinets and in the light fixtures?

If you are anything like me, it has been while.

Oh, you can also get a pet, for this, cats tend to be best.
