  1. no, because Boston dont has a good hitter like Manny Ramirez

  2. Of course. Pitchers are not stupid. No Manny? Why worry?

  3. Doubt it. Youkilis hits before him and WS MVP Mike Lowell hits after him follwed by JD Drew and Jason Bay. They can pitch around him if they want, but the hitters following him have the ability to make them pay.

  4. i think they will, which is one of the main reasons why trading manny is going to hurt the red sox so much...with all due respect to jason bay, he just doesn't instill fear in pitchers like manny does, and you can bet teams are going to be more careful going at ortiz now that manny is not there to protect him, and it's going to hurt papi's production, which will in turn make it tough for the sox to score enough runs

  5. Yep. There's no reason to give Ortiz good pitches regularly because he doesn't have anyone of Manny's caliber batting behind him. That's why American League pitchers (and non-Red Sox fans) are happy that Manny got traded.

  6. well i think they already are. ortiz is 1-10 with 4 walks since manny has left. obviously they aren't going to let ortiz beat them, but so far everybody else has been able to produce.

  7. They already have.  1 for 10 still Manny left with 4 walks.  They would rather put him on base knowing that he will probably stay there throughout the inning.  The Sox will be hard pressed to keep up without someone protecting Ortiz.  I think the Red Sox may have traded away their pennant chase.

  8. Yes, I believe they will. Until Lowell, or Bay, or whomever happens to hit fourth shows that they can hit for power Ortiz will be given the Bonds treatment.

  9. Just cause Manny Ramirez is gone ? It depends on the game situation.
