Will the police see a change of license plate only or the records of the old plates go to the new ones too?

  1. yea they do unfortunatly because you are still the person driving the vehicle and everyone can like loose their licence then get a new one if they want and start fresh if thats the case.

so thats why they just put your name under the number plate unless you havent regestered it which is illegal

  2. If the new plates are registered to the same person as the old plates the same record will come up.

If the new plates are registered to a new owner then only the new owner's records will come up.

If it is a new owner, we can still run the VIN and obtain the records of every owner in the past.

  3. Say for instance you get new plates but fail to put them on your vehicle.  The police pull you over and run the "old" plates that are still on your car.  The information will come back as expired plates and the plates should read "new plates".  This will tell them that you have new plates but have yet to install them.

As far as vehicle information...such as what in particular?  There really isn't much of a record on a vehicle itself, just the owner or driver.

  4. The license plate old or new dosen't matter if they check the V.I.N.,that is on your doors your dah, your transmission, axle, and probably some other places. If only checking tags, then the new ones.
