  1. Police departments will use teenagers to buy cigarettes. Contact the licensing unit of your local agencies.

  2. Only if the teen is over the age of 17 in some states and 18 in other states. I work in La. and you are charged as an adult at the age of 17 in La. So, 17 year old teens can be used to make CI (confidential informant) narcotic buys and for other purposes such as buying cigarettes or alcohol.

  3. Citicop is right, they don't really use teenagers because of liability. If they have the need for a teen they will find someone who is a police officer (21+) but could pass as a younger teen.

Just wait and become a police officer when you are 21, keep your record clean.

  4. Almost never.

The liability is too great.  If you want to be a cop, wait until you are old enough to get hired.

  5. Some police departments will use teenagers (that meet certain age requirements) to purchase alcohol or cigarettes "undercover".  They are called "controlled buys".
