Question:

Will porcelain crowns look natural for my two front teeth?

My two front teeth are dead, because they were hit with a softball. I had two root canals a year ago and now I'm noticing some discoloration. To get them whiter I know I have to get a porcelain crown, and whiten my other teeth. But will the porcelain crown look natural with the other teeth? I'm only 15 and I don't want to have a bad smile for high school, and for it too look fake.

  1. um sorry i don't no again I'm sorry

  2. Most crowns look so natural only a dental professional will be able to tell that they are crowns. Ask for all ceramic crowns(they may be more expensive) because with the porcelain fused to metal crowns , the metal can show by the gum line in some cases. Crowns will sure look better than discolored natural teeth. We once had a patient who had grey to almost black teeth on her upper 4 front teeth and she was also afraid to put crowns on them before her wedding. The crowns looked better then her own natural teeth and she was so happy she cried when we seated them. Remember that crowns don't last a lifetime and as we get older, our teeth get darker so the crowns eventually in years to come will most likely have to be changed. Best of Luck to you!

  4. I had one of my front teeth knocked out playing basketball.  I had a crown put in.  It looks great.  You can't tell.  They really work hard to match it with your other teeth.

And remember, you can't whiten porcelain.  Whiten and then choose the crown shade.

  5. what about veneers??
