Probably should have added that it is only the back end part of the exhaust - after the catalitic converters. ie. pipes, silencers and tail pipes

  1. probably no.. even if it fits.. it might need some tuning..

  2. strait on?...i would have to say no

it may fit with a little work...

  3. It will need some very minor modifications, possibly new hangers, but it can be installed by any competant muffler shop. As for the guy above me, no, it won't require any tuning. The exhausts from the e36 M3's will be more free flowing than an exhaust from a regular e36, because the m3 has more displacement and HP, therefore needing more airflow. The exhaust won't sound the same on your car as it would on the M3, but it will still sound better than stock.

Consider this before buying an expensive exhaust:

For my M5, I went on Ebay and bought 4 magnaflow straight through mufflers, and replaced all my stock mufflers with them, and it sounds mean! This would give your 328 a nice, low growl.

  4. No definately not.

If you manage to get it on, you will run into other issues.

Backpressure. This is very specific and different for the two cars. Fitting the M3 exhaust to your 328 will most likely result in loss of power and poor fuel consumption.

Best thing to do, is to have a costum build exhaust put on your car. By someone that knows what they are doing.
