I'm considering taking my family, including a p*****n boy, to the Galapagos Islands for a cruise where we hike on the islands every day and eat and sleep on the boat at night. Are the Galapagos - or cruises there - kid-friendly?

  1. i love baby turtles!

  2. yes they even have baby turtles!!!

  3. yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... recommend the eclipse.)

  4. It depends on how well behaved your son is...you need a lot of discipline in the Galapagos - stay on marked paths, don't touch/disturb the wildlife (even if it comes up to you), no litter AT ALL etc etc. and for the most part you may not be able to just wander off at will, so he'll have to stay with the tour group each time you go ashore.  It's not like being at the zoo.

That said, if he's aware of the restrictions, is really interested in nature/wildlife and is able to abide by the rules, it would be a fantastic opportunity.  I suspect that many tour operators will not take him though.

  5. All vacations will be good for them.

  6. I think they will enjoy it once they realize it is where Darwin thought up some of his good ideas. I'm sure it has a lovely and natural selection of animals to view.

There is stuff to do wherever you go, so I am sure they can find something to do. Maybe swimming.
