  1. You won't get a bargain for Christmas week cruises - they are one of the most-popular and thus most expensive cruises around.

From seeing your other questions, sounds like you should do some research before you book a cruise.  [The library will have books that give you all the details.]  For example, the drinking age on most cruises is 21 and your "sail and sign" card will indicate that you are under 21.  You also won't be able to book a cruise on most lines unless you have someone over 25 in the room with you.

  2. In my experience, I have found that the cruise lines usually increase their prices the week before, the week after and during Christmas.  So actually, almost the entire month of December is slightly higher.  I have been on 7 cruises with Carnival cruise lines and 1 with Princess cruise lines.  So far, December has always been higher month to travel on a cruise line.  But, hey, it is fun whenever you go!!!

  3. It depends on how well the ship is selling.  On my last cruise, the prices keep going up and up.  The ship sold out.  People who booked early paid about half of what people who booked late paid.

If the ship is not selling well, the prices will go down.  However, you will be left choosing a cabin that nobody else wanted.  It is better to book early and if the price goes down, ask for the new lower price.  Most cruise lines will honor a price drop before final payment is due.
