My computer is a custom built computer. I have two seperate drives, drive c: and drive d: I have, up until now, saved the majority of everything onto drive c:, I am a photographer and have several hundred pictures. in an attempt to free up space on drive c, i've transfered my pictures to drive d. what i'm wondering is if I delete them off of drive c will any programs that i've used or uploaded any of the data on c, be gone or stop working once i've deleted them ?

  1. I don't think so.  Your software might not be able to find your data or photos at first but it will still work.  You just have to redirect your software to the new location of your photos or files.

  2. The short answer is no. Simple data files you've created yourself, such as pictures, have no relevance to the operating of any software.

However, you could run into an issue where some applications that have indexed the files show them as missing or broken. In other words, you may need to tweak any apps that have cataloged your pictures in their original locations.

I strongly recommend also copying those pictures to a CD or DVD as a backup.
