Will push ups make me punch harder?? if so how many should I do daily??

  1. Push-ups will help you to a certain degree but there are many other things you can do to help your punching power. There are many techniques as well as specialized exercises and routines. The link below should easily explain everything in full detail to you. Enjoy!


  2. Push-ups will help punching power, but somewhat minimally. Your muscle and bone density would increase a little, so you would naturally hit harder. But you would have to do alot of stretching because what you would gain in density you would lose in rigidity and timing. Hit the speed bag and jump rope, they both help with overall hand-eye-foot coordination, which will result in better punching power due to better timing. And don't forget punching technique! Practice, practice, practice.

  3. no not really. pushups work on your pectorals which is a muscle group which isn't really used in a punch. your biceps,triceps and most importantly your lats are used. you need to develop all of these muscles in the gym. but what helps most in improving punching power is training with resistance tubes and things like that. regular bag work also improves your punching power. and throwing medicine balls as hard as you can against the wall (one hand at a time).

  4. yes, it will!  i punched harder but what really changed a lot was my punching speed.  i always did 3 sets of pushups MAX.  enough time for boxing.
