Will puttin my cell phone in a zip lock bag of rice work?

ok ik this is stupid but the other day i was swimmin and i got out i immediately grabbed my cell phone. the battery got all wet and it worked 4 a few days.well yesterday i was told 2 put my cell phone and cell phone battery in like a zip lock bag with rice soo that my battery will work. but will it truely work? i have a motorola w395 and its a verizon. does anybody now any good ways 2 fix my phone?

it really does work! My cousins friend jumped in the pool with her phone in her pocket and then put it in a bag of rice for about 4 or 5 days and it worked. And a few days ago my other cousins boyfriend had verizon and he jumped in the pool also and put it in a bag of rice and 3 days later it worked. Its worth a shot right?
