  1. No!! cranberry juice is excellent for first symptoms of a uti, drink lots and really flush your bladder. Be sure to see your dr. if symptoms persist or worsen and if you spike a fever.

  2. No

  3. Wow - have never heard of that one!

    Interesting theory

Not sure how it would work, but guess you could only try it

Unsure if it'd work however, seems similar to drinking a glass of tonic or mineral water?

    All The Best

    :-)

  4. Get some cranberry pills at your drug store (or food store) and take 3 of them with 8oz of water every 4 hours.  Make sure you drink lots of fluids all day long to help flush out the infection.  There is also an over the counter remedy for UTI's that is sold at drug stores.  Ask your pharmacist about it.

  5. Baking soda in water can help with heartburn or indigestion, but I've never heard of it being used for UTIs. The only home remedies I've ever heard of for a UTI is drinking lots of fluid and drinking cranberry juice.

  6. NO definately not.  If you have an infection, it is best to kill it with an antibiotic.

  7. It might help a bit.  Basically it will cut down on the acidity of your urine (baking soda is alkaline) so that urinating hurts less.  However, having suffered from cystitis in the past I'd say that the only way of getting rid of a urinary tract infection is a course of antibiotics.  I usually avoid taking them as I don't want to build up a resistance but I'm sure you'll agree that the pain is bloody awful.

Good luck, you have my sympathy!

  8. Ive never heard of that but i always eat a lot of yogurt and drink lots of cranberry juice

  9. No no no! Avoid any drinks that are carbonated (including alka seltzer). If you want to get rid of a UTI, it's really important that you maintain food that are acidic (especially ones that contain vitamin C..like oranges, orange juice, and most particularly cranberry juice) and avoid those that are basic (cheese, milk, yogurt). You want to keep your renal system more acidic than basic so that the bacteria that is harming your tract is killed and doesn't grow anymore.

I hope this helped! Remember..just drink tons of cranberry juice!

  10. I imagine anything that changes the Ph of your body would help.

    Haven't heard of it though.

Cranberry juice is a well known cure. Try it.  It works
