Will putting kickers into a dual box sound good?

I have a dual sub box that i got at best buy. It came with the two Daul 12" subwoofers but i want to upgrade. Will putting 2 kickers cvr12's sound good in the box. The box is also a bandpass box.

  1. well it depends what the cubic volume of the dual box is...find out and then compare it to the specs on your kicker subs


  2. i doubt it....kickers like volume (the kind in the box, not the kind you turn up...lol) band pass enclosures generally have smaller volume to achieve the bandpass effect. so your band pass box is not good for the kickers.....and i don't believe they are recommended to be used with a band pass box. large ported boxes are usually the way to go with them.

  3. It all depends on the design of box and its volume. You can find Kickers recommended box sizes on their web site. They will sound just as good as the duals and should sound better if the box is large enough for them. You would need to provide more information for the correct answer. Those Kickers would probably sound MUCH better is a standard sealed or ported box because Dual does not make very good products and that box is not designed for a woofer as serious as a  Kicker CompVR. Those Kickers would sound much louder and have better sound quality in a sealed or ported box that is within Kickers recommendations.
