Question:

Will "W" command big speech fees?

Former presidents like Clinton and Bush Sr get big bucks for speaking engagements, but they had relatively successful administrations, possess large vocabularies and can pronounce multi-syllable words.

"W" has none of these qualities going for him plus nobody listens to him now anyway.

Will he be a draw on the lecture circuit or will be relegated to speaking to Boy Scout troops gratis?

  1. yeah that'll be the day....

he will get the money, but not because anybody wants to hear anything he might say, rather because he is doing stuff today for large corporations that will owe him for decades to come.

  2. Considering that he will be invited to numerous small, and private interest groups for a Question and Answer session, it is quite important that he consider to provide complete explanations when speaking at these future meetings.

    Wish him good luck.

  3. "I'll give some speeches, to replenish the ol' coffers," says Mr Bush, who is already estimated to be worth $20m. "I don't know what my dad gets - it's more than 50-75 [thousand dollars a speech], and "Clinton's making a lot of money".

  4. No he won't. Dude needs a Dale Carnegie course in the worst way. He will be a VFW, Commencement, and $2500 a plate Republican fund raiser speaker when he takes off time from being the Commissioner of Baseball.

  5. Certainly will.

  6. He will be lucky if the Boy Scouts would invite him to speak.

  7. Typically, all former presidents make more after they are president, one of the perks.

  8. I would rent him for my kids birthday party. What a laughing riot that would be!

  9. Your assumption that no one listens to the President anymore is just that....your assumption. I would believe that Mr. Bush will be shown the respect given to any man who has served as POTUS. If he is disrespected, this country has an even lower footing than suspected. Yes, I see him as getting paid well!

  10. Yes.  His corporate buddies will guarantee him work.  First up: EXXON MOBILE

  11. Well, Clinton had all those legal bills to pay, so I understand his desire to be on the lecture circuit.  Carter avoided the circuit, I guess to avoid the rotten vegetables.  W will probably do a few, I sure he'd be popular.  If Al Gore can collect speaking fees, ANYBODY can.

  12. u bet he will

  13. He has years of drinking and drug use to catch up on. So, even if he could, he won't have time.

  14. he will, and he will be fine, as long as he sticks to a prepared speech.  if he starts to talk on his own, it will not be good.

and to those who say he won't, at least on this question, we will know the answer soon enough.

  15. free coffee and donuts...he'll say anything you want
