Question:

Will racism show its face on election day?

Racism isn't a public as it used to be but I know plenty of 'closet racists' who'd never admit to it publicly. The question is, will there a big surprise on election day when they vote? What people say to reporters and pollsters and what they believe may not be the same thing. Why are they such cowards? Am I paranoid or do my personal experiences mirror reality?

  1. What form of racism are you referring to? There are a lot of forms of racism. I am not sure that I understand your question. Do you mean that Obama will be receiving a lot of votes just because he is black? Or McCain will be receiving a lot of votes because he is white? Could you explain more? To answer your question the best that I can I think there will be a lot of each things happening. Maybe the question should be..do you think that it is wrong to vote for some one based on there race instead of there experience and qualifications for the job? My answer to that would be yes.

  2. Sadly there will be a lot of ppl who won't vote for Obama because he's black, just like a lot of ppl wouldn't have voted for Hilary because she's a woman. That's just life. And those ppl are ignorant. I agree with the other guy that there are a lot more reasonable non-racist ppl than ignorant racist ppl, and I think that will show on election day no matter who they vote for.

  3. Maybe a lot of people don't necessarily like everything that Obama is promising, so they choose to vote for somebody else. I wouldn't vote Clinton or Obama if I lived in the states, but that doesn't make me racist, I just have firm beliefs in other things, and I don't believe that what they propose to the country is as important as other things that others are proposing. What everybody chooses won't be based on race at all, I believe, because what they vote for will effect them directly, even if they are racist, they will vote for whomever they feel will run the country better and more to the majority's likings.

  4. sadly, racism shows it's ugly face every day

  5. And, it is highly probable, its @$$ too.

  6. I hope the American people will vote for the best person to do the job irrespective or colour. I wonder if sexism would have been a factor if Hilary Clinton was the candidate?

    BTW, I'm a Brit.

  7. yes but obama will still win i think because there are more non then racist

  8. i pray to God, that it doesn't. i hope people vote for who better fits the position, not because of their background/color of their skin.....

  9. so your saying Obama would make the better president?

    wow

  10. I don't think it will show on election day, but I think that it certainly is something that people are not willing to tolerate these days as much.  Being prejudice is not cool in any sense whether it be SES, race, gender, etc.

  11. I hope not, but there is a big chance that both racism and sexism will show.

As much as I hate to say this, states in the Bible Belt will most likely NOT vote for Obama. This, I expect. I also do expect that racism will show on election day, It's a sad fact and I wish people could get over their prejudices against black people, but I think there are some places that really just haven't come that far.

  12. No. People are afraid of being called racist and thats why they say one thing but do another. People are sick of being called a racist just because they dont believe in a black mans beliefs. It doesnt mean they dont like blacks they just dont like this particular one. But Im sure every news station out there will be talking about how America (the so called melting pot) is the most racist country in the world because they didn't want a Liberal running their country.

  13. you bet ye, it is already.
