  1. You bring up an interesting point.  I'm sure that Manny will leave under the most unpleasant circumstances and the fans will react according.  In their hearts they would hate to give up the bat but I'm sure they've had enough of "Manny being Manny".  It's all about the pennant race and the last thing the Red Sox fans want is a major distraction.

When Manny says he want out of Boston I can understand why the fans would be insulted.  That's like saying, "the hello with my teammates and the fans!"

Johnny Damon went for the money and I don't blame him.  He got his ring so anything after that was gravy.  Damon is just a "gun for hire".  He doesn't really belong to any "one" team.

With Nomar it was different.  Red Sox management basically ran him out of town.  I personally thought that was unfair.  I liked and still like Nomar.  A great talent plagued with injuries.  It really wasn't his fault.  I still don't understand why the Red Sox fans dislike him so much.

  2. They already have.

  3. First off, Red Sox fans didn't turn on Nomar...and not all Sox fans turned on Damon...Manny is still my favorite player but I think it is time for him to go...hopefully he will keep his mouth shut (unlike Damon) but even if he doesn't I will still think he is great and I will stand up and cheer the next time I am at a game he is in...he helped the Sox win two World Series so he is a huge part of Red Sox history.

  4. Woah, Red Sox fans did not turn on Nomar, he is one of the greatest short stops in red sox history. We turned on Damon because he only went to the Yankees for the money, he's a money grubbing jerk and he throws like a girl.

And its not really like Manny has a choice. I mean, he has the right to choose if he wants the deal or not, but I really don't think the red sox organization wants him in Boston anymore.

oh and bunky, yes he did throw like a girl in boston. i WAS a fan of his too.

  5. its one thing to let manny be manny when he's on your team, its another thing to be loyal to a jackass thats not even there anymore (when he leaves)

  6. I don't think so & Beth, you said Damon throws like a girl.  Did he throw like a girl in Boston or just now because he plays for the Yankees? Red Sox fans may be tired of Manny's antics, but he will always be a part of the Red Sox history & he was a major part in them winning 2 World Series titles

  7. I'm a Red Sox fan and I wouldn't. I don't want Manny cause he's a distraction, and plus he's getting old, so he wouldn't produce alot, anyways.

  8. Well if they do , he would have brought it upon himself . He is the distraction of the team. He needs to grow up and stop acting like a spoiled rotten kid .

  9. I hope so. I hope they douse that funky 'do of his with gasoline and set his freakin' head on fire.

  10. Yeah, that's likely.

Manny wasn't a bad player in Boston; he is a key reason why they likely won the last two World Series whether you like to admit it or not.  However, so was Damon in 04.
