I'm currently infected with the Virtumonde. My laptop is quite new, just over a month old so I don't have that much in it yet.

  1. yes it should because it uninstalls EVERYTHING (even your operating system) and reinstall it from scratch.)

  2. Yes. Doing a system recovery (not a system restore) will reset everything back to the condition is was in the first day you turned it on (including the registration). Before you consider that, BACK UP YOUR PICTURES, DOCUMENTS, MUSIC and any other files you don't want to lose in the process because it will erase them as well along with the malware and adware. Also your practices must change. Doing system recovery doesn't necessarily prevent these bugs from coming back. You must stop what ever it is that your doing that put them there in the first place.

  3. On any platform (Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, or Vista,) restoring your computer to factory settings will remove malware/adwares.  I have done it several times.  When your computer is restored, there is nothing left on the drive besides software that came with the computer, so it should get rid of malware/adwares.  I would suggest to back up the things you do need, just in case you want to view them in the future.  On Windows Vista, if you look for the bar that is on the top or side of your screen, there will be an option that says "restore to factory defaults."  This comes in handy!

  4. Yes ,you will. But you had better clean adwares by other software.

  5. Sometimes. It depends on what you have on there. Some viruses are specifically designed to target the restore partition of the hard drive, so that even if you restore it will still be infected. It's usually worth a try.

However, a better alternative would be just to try to clean your computer up. Download copies of AVG anti-virus, and Spybot Search and destroy. You can find them at http://free.avg.com/  and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl... and both for free.

  6. yes but you do know if you do so you'll loose everything on it all software music etc. if you do know when it started to have adwares appearing then you can stop it and save all of your files by doing a system restore. go to it on pc doctor or somewhere else and restore to the day b4 it began

  7. yes, totally, and you better do it before it becomes unusable like mine did before

  8. do you not have anti virus installed, I just do my scan, it comes up and then i can remove it.

  9. yes it will and any isolations you have installed will also be removed
