Question:

Will roach bait bring roaches into my home?

I do not have roaches in my home, but my next door neighbor does. Today the bug man came, and put out roach bait. Will this attract the roaches that are at the neighbors house and bring them into mine? should I remove the bait?

  1. Bait is set out to kill the roaches not invite them in.  They eat a little and take some back to the nest to share.

  2. no the bait is only strong enough to sense within a limited distance to roaches. the roach man places the bait in high concentrated areas where the roaches are almost guaranteed to walk through. as they walk by they will smell sense the bait and eat it (killing them).

so it wont attract roaches from a far distance, just roaches closest to the bait, and roaches that happen to stumble upon your house.

  3. Roach motels will stop them.

  4. Are you *sure* that your home does not have a single roach or maybe more hiding in or around your home?  The purpose of 'roach bait' is to attract roaches hiding in deep crevices in or *around* a home to eat of it and be poisoned to death by it.  Use your own judgement.  I would suggest that you try to influence your neighbor to give the 'bug man' a call to come verify your claim of her/his home's roach infestation, and urge them to pay for having *their* house treated also, if it's so.

  5. No, leave the bait. It won't make them come to your place if they're not already there, and if they start to spread over there, the bait will kill them off in their nest.
